Yes... if you don't have a microphone handy, headphones can sometimes be used instead (by plugging them into your computer's microphone port). Please note we accept no responsibility for any explosions that result from you doing this.
Please check your microphone volume is loud enough.
To adjust your microphone volume, please right click on the voice recording widget (on the main page), then select "settings". From here you can select the microphone tab to access the microphone volume slider.

This seems to be a problem with Flash Player and beyond Vocaroo's control. Please try the following to fix:
Are you behind a restrictive firewall? Vocaroo currently requires TCP port 1935 on your network to be open. Other than that, it may just have been a temporary problem, so try again.
Perhaps you misspelled their email address? If you are sure it was correct then it's most likely the fault of a spam blocker somewhere down the line, so check your spam folder. However internet providers sometimes even drop emails without it ever even reaching the spam folder.
If the recipient adds the address "robot@vocaroo.com" to their contact list this may also help.
There is no limit on message length.
Unfortunately due to Vocaroo's increasing popularity, automatic deletion of messages is now occurring.
Messages recorded by logged-in users will expire after 5-6 months. Messages recorded anonymously and without an account will be deleted after 1-2 months.
We're pretty sad that this has to happen. We apologise for our incompetence and laziness and not bothering to implement a sustainable business model.
Yes. Click "Download as WAV" or "Download as Ogg" underneath a message. You may need to right click and select "save as" or "download file as" or similar.
The WAV file format is very widely supported, but is uncompressed and will take longer to download. The Ogg format files are compressed and much smaller (similar to MP3, but free of patents). You may need to install some stuff to get Ogg to work on your computer though.
In almost all cases this is caused by using a low quality microphone. To improve quality, you could try turning your microphone's volume down (right click on the recorder to access the Flash Player settings), and also try moving further away from the microphone while speaking.
Sound quality might also be improved by standing on your head.
Something's broken somewhere. It may be fixed one day. Please report this problem so we know how often it occurs.
Yes. Click below.
No. Eventually it will cease to exist altogether: The sun will die and go cold, and the small fraction of humanity that leaves Earth will have little need of Vocaroo packed together in a cramped generation ship.
How much $$$, hmm? But on a serious note, we do intend to provide this functionality in the future. Unfortunately, due to other commitments, it may be several months years before we get around to it. If you have a Vocaroo account we'll let you know when it's ready. In the meantime, be sure to send us your feature requests and suggestions!
No. At the time of writing, the iPhone does not support Flash Player.
You can manage, can't you?
Please contact us. We love getting messages.
