Vocaroo - The premier voice recording service.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I use Vocaroo?

There are some great tutorials from Vocaroo users which can be found over here on YouTube.

How long do recordings last?

Audio is usually kept for a minimum of 12 months, and regularly accessed audio will be kept for even longer, perhaps indefinitely.

Unfortunately there is not yet an option to guarantee permanent storage, although this might be available in the future.

Is there a recording time limit?

The maximum recording time is somewhere over 6 hours. Finding the exact time limit is left as an exercise for the reader.

How do I delete a recording?

There should be a delete button available when you view the recording in the same web browser you made it in, however this may disappear if you clear your web browser cookies or history.

Help! I recorded something important and it disappeared!

You can check this experimental page in the same web browser you made the recording in. However, if you cleared your web browser history it will not be possible to recover it.

Recording quality is bad or has strange glitches

Web audio recording is still a fairly new technology and there seems to be various web browser bugs, which appear and disappear according to the current mood of the browser developers.

Please consider reporting the issue to your web browser provider, using all caps and multiple exclamation marks where appropriate. You can also try an alternative web browser, such as Firefox (unless you are on iOS, in which case all web browsers are forced to use Safari under the hood; an inescapable evil).

Can I use screenshots of Vocaroo or the Vocaroo logo and images in my publication?

Yes, please go ahead! Here are some higher quality images.
